So the time has finally come, my dear readers. Doug and I—8 months after our wedding, mind you—are finally going on our honeymoon!!! YAY! I cannot even explain to you how excited we are: We haven’t been on a trip with just the two of us in almost 2.5 years, so this is a huge milestone for us. The past two years have been insanely busy, and we’re finally ready to put our relaxing shoes on.
We’re headed to the lovely and remote island of Barbados in the far eastern part of the Caribbean for a little over a week, and it’s going to be absolutely glorious. We have our own airy apartment with private beach access and its own pool—and an outdoor kitchen! Granted, I won’t be cooking much, but I do love to have breakfast watching the waves, and Doug is a sucker for my scrambled eggs.
I’ve been working my butt off to get into a bikini and I’m officially 12 POUNDS(!) lighter with two smokin’ bikinis to show off. Wohoo! Besides being lazy on the beach, we’re also heading into the deep ocean on a submarine and sailing around the blue ocean snorkeling on a catamaran. And, of course, we’ll be eating well. We choose Barbados not because of its remote location, but also because it’s known for having great international food. We definitely know we’ll be enjoying the food at The Tides, and there will be plenty of Caribbean-inspired food to go around.
VACATION HERE WE COME!
